The AI can generate polls on any topic — trending news, entertainment, food, sports, politics, lifestyle, and more. It tailors suggestions based on your interests and any topic you describe. It can also detect multi-part topics and offer to generate a full Poll Series automatically.

Can the AI generate a Poll Series for me?

Yes! When you describe a topic that naturally has multiple angles, stages, or follow-up questions — like a tournament, an ongoing news story, or a multi-part debate — the AI recognises the series potential and offers to generate a full set of linked polls at once. For example, 'World Cup 2026 winner' might produce a series for each round, and 'NHS crisis' might generate 4-5 polls covering funding, staffing, privatisation, and public trust. You can save them all as drafts, remove any you don't want, or publish them immediately. If the topic is a single-answer question, the AI generates one poll as normal.

What is a Poll Series?

A Poll Series is a curated, numbered collection of polls grouped around a common theme or narrative. For example, a series might follow each round of a tournament, explore multiple angles of a news story, or build a multi-part debate. Polls in a series are displayed together on a dedicated Series page, numbered Poll 1, Poll 2, etc., so viewers can see the full picture and navigate between them.

How do I create a Poll Series?

When creating any poll, scroll to the 'Poll Series' section near the bottom of the form. Choose 'Create New Series' to start a fresh series with a title and description — your current poll will become the first entry. Choose 'Add to Existing' to assign it to one of your existing series. You can also let the AI Assistant generate a full series automatically from a single topic.

Can I add drafts to a series before publishing?

Yes! You can assign a poll to a series and save it as a draft. It will appear on the Series page (visible only to you as the creator) with a 'Draft' badge. Publish it whenever you're ready and it will go live as part of the series.

Can I reorder polls within a series?

Yes — as the series creator, you'll see up/down arrows next to each poll on the Series page. Tap them to reorder polls to your preferred narrative flow. The numbering updates automatically.

What does 'Ongoing' vs 'Completed' mean for a series?

'Ongoing' means you plan to add more polls to the series. 'Completed' signals to followers that the series is finished. As the creator, you can toggle between these states at any time from the Series page header.

How do I follow a Poll Series?

Open any Series page and tap the 'Follow' button. You'll be notified each time the creator publishes a new poll in that series, so you never miss the next instalment.

Can I share a Poll Series?

Yes! Every series has its own unique share link. Tap 'Share' on the Series page to copy the link to your clipboard. Share it anywhere — social media, messaging apps, or anywhere else — so others can discover and follow the entire series.

Can I change my vote after submitting?

Once you vote on a poll, that vote is final and cannot be changed. This ensures the integrity of poll results.

Can I create polls with more than 2 options?

Yes! You can add up to 6 options on any poll. Use the 'Add Another Option' button when creating your poll.

How long do polls last?

You choose! When creating a poll, set it to expire after 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, or 30 days. You can also create polls with no expiration date.

Can I post a poll to multiple communities?

Yes! When creating a poll you can select multiple communities to post to simultaneously. Your poll will appear in the general feed and in every selected community.

What are anonymous polls?

Anonymous polls hide the author's identity — your name won't be shown on the poll. Because anonymous posting can be misused, all anonymous polls are reviewed and verified by the Votappa team before going live. This can take up to 24 hours.

Can I add images to my polls?

Absolutely! You can add a featured image to any poll to make it more engaging and provide visual context.

Can I see results before I vote?

Guests can see all poll results without signing in. Registered users see results after they vote.

Does Votappa show real-time results?

Yes! Votappa results update live as votes are cast. You can watch the percentages shift in real-time, making it perfect for live events, TV broadcasts, debates, or any situation where you want to show audience opinion as it happens.

Can I see poll results by demographic?

Yes. Votappa captures anonymous demographic snapshots (age range, gender, region, and town) when users vote, allowing poll creators to see how different groups voted. This is completely anonymous — no individual's vote can be traced back to them. Demographic breakdowns show results by age group, gender, UK region, and town, giving you deep insight into how different segments of the public feel about any topic.

You can ask almost anything! Common types include: this-or-that comparisons, agree/disagree statements, rating scales, prediction polls (sports, elections, events), opinion gauges on news and politics, product preference polls, local community issues, fun and silly questions, and multi-part debates. You can add 2-6 answer options per poll, enable multiple selections, add images and videos, and even group related polls into a series.

Can I create multiple choice polls?

Yes! Votappa supports multiple choice voting — you can allow voters to select more than one option and even set a maximum number of selections (e.g. 'pick your top 3'). This is great for questions like 'Which 3 teams will be relegated?' or 'Which features do you want most?'

What are Communities?

Communities are groups built around shared interests like technology, sports, local areas, etc. Join communities to see polls relevant to your interests.

Go to the Communities tab, tap 'Create', choose a name, description, category, and privacy setting. You'll become the community admin.

What's the difference between public and private communities?

Public communities can be joined by anyone. Private communities require approval from the admin. Invite-only communities can only be joined with an invitation link.

Can I post the same poll to multiple communities?

Yes! Select multiple communities in the 'Post to Communities' section when creating your poll. It will appear in all selected communities and the general feed.
